International Anesthesiology Fellowship
The Department of Anesthesiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) is offering a one-year International Anesthesiology Fellowship for those interested in becoming leaders in global health. Applicants should have completed an accredited anesthesiology residency and be board-eligible by the start of the academic year.
Fellowship Overview
The International Anesthesiology Fellowship includes educational, clinical, and research aspects. The fellow will gain experience attending in the operating rooms at CUIMC while taking courses at the Mailman School of Public Health, most likely in epidemiology. In addition, the fellow will have the unique opportunity to create a 3-month rotation at an international location (possibly in sub-Saharan Africa), where the primary activities will include teaching anesthesiology providers and conducting a research project with local collaborators. After the international rotation, the fellow would be expected to continue the research project through data analysis and presentation. After completing this fellowship, graduates will be poised to become leaders in the field of global anesthesiology.
