Margaret Wood Center for Simulation and Education

The Margaret Wood Center for Simulation and Education provides a safe and welcoming experiential learning environment for clinicians to refine and hone clinical, teamwork, and communication skills. Simulation provides a valuable opportunity to practice high-stakes clinical scenarios, such as cardiac arrest, and rarely encountered emergencies, such as malignant hyperthermia.

As the saying goes, "Practice Makes Perfect." Simulation provides the opportunity for mastery learning through deliberate practice for providers at all levels, from PGY-1 residents to experienced faculty. Through simulation, we can build a culture of safety and improve patient care.

Pregnant Robot Gives Birth: Tech Meets Medicine

The Margaret Wood Center for Simulation and Education has been expertly designed to mimic real-world operating rooms and ICUs to provide an immersive clinical experience for our health-care providers.

Our trainees participate in a wide array of activities ranging from using phantom models to simulate ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blockade to learning the basics of transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) on our mannequin-based simulators.
