Dr. Marc Dickstein led a multidisciplinary hands-on cardiac physiology workshop using the Harvi Simulator. The group of 25 trainees from medicine (cardiology), surgery (cardiothoracic surgery), and anesthesiology (adult cardiothoracic and critical care medicine) collaborated on five simulated exercises relevant to their practice. Using Harvi and guided by Dr. Dickstein, the attendees developed models of acute heart failure, explored the impact of pharmacological therapy and of mechanical support devices on hemodynamics, developed models for prevention and treatment of LV distension on ECMO, and examined pathways of myocardial ischemia and recovery.

The event took place August 30. The group also got to enjoy dinner at Bar Boulud, sponsored by Abiomed.
