Quality Control = Monitoring, A Fundamental Responsibility for Anesthesiologists

Quality Control Domain Function: Continuous measurement to enable corrective action and to monitor for sustained gains after completing QI initiatives. This is accomplished through visual displays of measures for all staff, performance feedback, team huddles, and clear escalation processes.

Tracking meaningful quality metrics is important for building a culture of learning and curiosity

  • We monitor performance using multiple data sources and dashboards from multiple sources including simple analytic tools within the Electronic Health Record, the Multicenter Perioperative Outcome Group (MPOG) quality platform ASPIRE, custom reports build by our team to answer specific questions that our clinicians feel are important, and others.
