Mikami Lab

Emerging epidemiological studies suggest a probable link between chronic allergic diseases and depression, but underlying mechanism(s) has not been fully investigated. The Mikami lab is interested in exploring whether chronic allergic disease such as asthma can cause behavioral changes using mouse model and elucidating the neuroimmune mechanisms through which chronic allergic lung inflammation contributes to brain inflammation and altered neurobehavioral outcomes including delayed recovery from general anesthesia.
